  1. Tripura Educational Institutions Prevention of Ragging Act, 1990

  2. The Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1996. (Applicable in the State of Tamil Nadu).

  3. Andhra Pradesh Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997.

  4. Chandigarh Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997

  5. Assam Prohibition of Ragging Bill, 1998. 

  6. The Kerala Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1998.

  7. The Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1999.

  8. The Prohibition of Ragging in Educational Institutes Act, 2000 (Applicable in the State of West Bengal).

  9. Goa Prohibition of Ragging Act, 2008

  10. The Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Ragging in Educational Institutions Act, 2010

  11. Jammu and Kashmir Prohibition of Ragging Act, 2011

Some states that do not have an anti ragging law at the moment. However, if a victim is ragged in such states, a case may be based on IPC offences and disciplinary action could be taken in conformance with UGC regulations.
