DAAN UTSAV, India’s most popular Festival of Giving is around the corner! It is a beautiful celebration of the spirit of generosity and compassion that courses through the veins of our nation. Held in the first week of October every year, it’s a time when people from all walks of life come together to make a difference, to share a little happiness, and experience the profound joy that comes from giving selflessly.
Daan Utsav, also known as the Joy of Giving Week, is a time when individuals and communities come together to spread love, compassion, and positivity. In the spirit of this celebration, it is crucial to address a pressing issue that affects the lives of many young individuals across educational institutions in India – “Ragging”.
Ragging, a deeply rooted problem, not only violates the principles of Daan Utsav but also poses serious physical and psychological threats to students. Ragging also leads to emotional trauma, academic decline, and damages self-esteem. Ragging not only tarnishes the spirit of education but also inflicts lasting damage on the lives of young individuals. By raising awareness, enforcing strict anti-ragging policies, and promoting a culture of respect and empathy, we can ensure that educational institutions become safe and nurturing environments for all students, where they can learn with fun not with fear. Let us pledge to eradicate the dark cloud of ragging that looms over educational institutions. Let’s put an end to it!
Society Against Violence in Education (SAVE), India’s Leading Anti-Ragging Non-profit Organization, passionately committed to combating the menace of ragging in educational institutions and creating a safer, more inclusive environment for students for the last 15 years.
Over the years, the movement has featured in numerous media reports (print and electronic) – nationally as well as internationally.
The initiative is glad and proud to have received support from celebrities like Mr. Aamir Khan (Satyamev Jayate, Season 3, Ep.6) as well as Mr. Suneil Shetty, Mr. Amol Gupte, Ms. Amrita Rao and Mr. Salman Khan.
